DVD Player, PC The
console PC DVD-ROM drive will play DVDs as well as audio CDs.
After you insert a DVD and close the drive door, the DVD Player application will automatically start. To play the movie in full screen mode, double click in the DVD Player title bar. To return to the smaller window double click again. A right click in the player window will bring up a menu allowing access to the DVD Player controls. To return to the desktop, strike the ESC key. To exit the DVD player, toggle the smaller window and click the X in the upper right corner. These computers are formatted to use Windows Media Player to play DVDs and no other DVD players. Please do not download any other DVD players and if the CD/DVD you insert into the drive asks you to "add a player" choose "NO". If other DVD players are installed on the computer it can cause problems with Media Player.
The PC is checked daily to ensure proper running of the DVD player. However, throughout the day settings may change that lead to complications with the DVD player's operation. Troubleshooting: 1. Many problems can be solved by simply closing Media player (either pressing the 'x' at the top right or, if that doesn't work, click the menu bar and press Alt+Ctrl+Delete all at the same time. The Windows Task Manager should pop up. Select Windows Media Player from the list of Tasks and click End Task at the bottom.). After closing Media player, double click on the DVD icon on the desktop to begin playing the DVD again. 2. Video plays, but no audio. There are a few things that could cause this problem. First, on the touch screen press the 'Adjust Volume Control' and make sure the volume is turned up and that the mute button is not selected (if mute is selected the mute button will be white and the volume bar will not be visible). Second, the volume bar on Media Player may be turned down.
3. If none of these fixes work, the Macintosh can also be used to play DVD's.
